The Marks of Discipleship
represent a means by which to achieve our Vision: To Be Disciples Building
Christ’s Kingdom. The graphic we are using is intended to emphasize that Jesus
is and always will be the center point of our Vision; that His death on the
cross is the price He paid for our sin; and that the individual Marks of
Discipleship are equally important in achieving our Mission: “To strive, as
Christ’s stewards, to equip Christians for daily life and witness through
worship, education, pastoral care, outreach and music.”
In the fall, as we move toward the beginning of a new church year, the Vestry
will provide each of us with a Marks of Discipleship Annual Review. Through
solitary and prayerful introspection, each of us can use the Marks as a way to
take stock of where we are in our relationship with Christ and where we would
like to be in the year to come. In addition, we will be able to indicate our
interests in programs offered by St. Dunstan’s that can help us to meet our
personal Marks objectives. We also will be able to provide feedback on our
Giving that will help the Vestry prioritize the development and support of these
programs.
