Columbarium and Meditative Garden
Having a place of remembrance for our loved ones is both comforting and strengthening. The Columbarium and Meditative Garden, adjacent to our worship area, is a peaceful setting for remembering loved ones who have preceded us through the gates of larger life.
We hope you will find this a fitting resting place for yourself and your loved ones, and suggest that the time to make burial and memorial arrangements for ourselves and for those we love is now, when there is time to thoughtfully consider the appropriate options, and not when death suddenly occurs, when hasty and often difficult decisions by family members must be made amidst grief and emotional distress.
The solution is St. Dunstan's Columbarium, designed to provide a dignified, respectful, economical, and fitting place of inurnment.
Within this walled and gated garden area is a place of beauty, tranquility, and privacy; there are walkways and benches, flowers, shrubs, and trees, all designed for rest and meditation.
The Columbarium contains 100 niches, each capable of accommodating two urns. Each niche provides for the inurnment of two persons, or one person may desire to acquire a full niche.
On the exterior north wall of the "Bride's Room" is a companion memorial wall to honor 240 of our loved ones. The names of those who have gone before us and whose resting place is elsewhere may be inscribed on this special wall.
The Columbarium is the responsibility of the church and vestry and is maintained by an endowment fund. The Columbarium Committee, with the assistance of the church administrator's office, oversees the day-to-day management. This Columbarium project is financially self-sufficient, and does not impact the ongoing ministries of our church.
