I received an email from Lonell Wright, a former member of our parish, a seminarian and present member of Grace Church, New Orleans. The following is an update about the Grace Childcare Center, a project supported by St. Dunstan’s this past year. Grace has hired a wonderful consultant with the help of two dedicated parishioners. They make a dynamo team. Together they have raised $76,000 for the center. In addition, they have received two different grants from United Way totaling $55,000 and a grant from Shell Oil Company in the amount of $21,000.

The Grace Childcare Center has a 30-year history and was the first to
implement a sliding fee scale to serve the working poor of the
community. The center is ethnically diverse including significant
African American, Hispanic, Caucasian and Asian populations.
The construction is expected to be completed by the end of January.
Lonell sends his sincere thanks on behalf of Grace Church for our
consistent prayers and financial support.
I am hoping to make a return visit to Grace Church next summer. With
this continued contact we are practicing being disciples building
Christ’s Kingdom.
In Christ’s love, Fr. Fred
