Do You Have a Question?

Do our pets go to heaven when they die? Over the years I have been asked many questions as a priest. Some of them have easy answers, but others like this one are hard. Do you have a question you would like me to answer, or at least try to do so? Well, here is your opportunity. Starting next month, I will include my answer to a biblical, theological, or ecclesiastical question submitted to me by a reader of the Mini. You can write your question on paper and slip it to me on a Sunday, send it in a letter to the St. Dunstan’s office, or e-mail me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it I will pick one question to answer per month from all those I receive. The more you send me, the better chance that I will answer your question.

So, do pets go to heaven when they die? C.S. Lewis helped me to answer this question in a sermon several years ago. Everything good that comes from God continues to have a place in his creation. Those animals which have been part of our lives, those with whom we have a relationship, may very well continue to be part of our heavenly lives just as they were part of our earthly lives.

Fr. David Montzingo
